Treize smiled at the Chinese boy. "Wufei. Come home with me tonight." Looking beyond the boy, he saw a familiar figure standing under an oak tree. Waiting for someone, Zechs? I'll give you something to make your wait more interesting. Not taking his eyes from his former friend, he leaned forward to kiss the Chinese boy. He smiled mentally when the blond turned his head away. After a reasonable period, he broke the kiss and gazed into the black eyes. "Will you come home with me?"
Wufei nodded.
Though I was your yesterday,
I want to be your tomorrow
Noting movement out of the corner of his eye, Treize looked and saw Zechs kissing Duo deeply. You're doing that on purpose, aren't you? I know you so well, Zechs. You and I made a good pair. Too bad it had to end.
He turned back to Wufei. "Shall we?" He opened the door to his car and motioned the boy in. He walked around to the other side, noting that his former lover was doing the same thing with that new toy of his.
Pulling into his driveway, Treize rested a hand on the boy's knee. "Do you have a lot of work tonight?" he asked the younger boy.
"I have some work, but it shouldn't take long to complete it. I only have a few chemistry problems and some trigonometry."
"Oh, good. Well, shall I prepare supper while you do this work?" You're going to need to get your work finished before we eat, because you won't get a chance afterward.
Wufei nodded, and when they were inside, he sat at a low table to do his work.
You feel you're starting to decay
Never cross the line
As he prepared what he knew was the young Chinese student's favorite, cellophane noodles with pork, he watched the boy intently doing his work. I remember being that age, that dedicated to my studies. He smiled, fondly remembering his first meetings with Zechs when he was in 10th grade and the blond was a freshman. Wealth has its rewards, does it not? Had your father not insisted you receive a peer tutor for your first year, we would probably never have met. You might wish we'd never met, or certainly never been lovers, but I'm glad for it.
When the noodles were finished, he carried them out to the low table at which Wufei sat. The boy looked up. "Thank you," he said, putting his textbooks away.
During the meal, Treize wondered if the boy knew how seductively he was eating. He doubted it, but he had to force himself not to stare on more than one instance.
While Treize was cleaning the dishes, Wufei finished up his homework.
"Dragon?" he called from the kitchen.
"Yes?"
"Do you know how to prepare litchi nuts? I have some here, peeled, but I can't figure out how to make that sauce."
Wufei walked into the kitchen. "My grandmother taught me. She said every Chinese person should know how to properly prepare litchi." He looked around for the ingredients, combined them, and poured them over a bowl of litchi nuts. "These have to be chilled for an hour before we can eat them."
That'll be plenty of time... He caught the boy around his waist, pulled him close, and kissed him. Initially, Wufei tried to pull away, but he stopped resisting and began kissing back. He followed when Treize led him to his bedroom, where he willingly lay with the man.
After finding release and cleaning up a bit, Treize went into the kitchen and retrieved the chilled litchis from the refrigerator, pouring them and the sweet liquid in which they were soaking over a bowl of ice. He took two small forks from the silverware drawer, placed them and the bowl on a tray, and carried it back to the bedroom where his dragon was waiting.
He placed the tray on the table next to the bed and sat down next to the almond-skinned beauty. "Wufei."
He opened his eyes sleepily, turning his head in the direction of the sound. "Oh, Treize. Thank you," he said, noticing the tray of nuts on the table.
Treize took one of the small forks, picked up a litchi nut with it, and held it out to his lover, who took it in his mouth gently. Wufei picked up a fork and offered Treize a litchi. They took turns offering each other the soft, sweet nuts until all that remained was the sweet juice and the ice. Treize lifted the bowl to his mouth to drink some of the juice, then offered the rest to Wufei. When Wufei finished drinking, he took an ice cube in his mouth, pushed Treize onto his back, and slid the cold cube over his nipples, chest, and throat.
"Mmmh," moaned Treize, as he felt the boy's hands moving over him and the ice on his stomach.
Wufei teased Treize with the ice cube until it entirely melted.
Wufei... please, do something... touch me, anything...
The boy responded to his silent request.
Try to hide the filth inside
All to be forgiven
What you see is all a dream
Waking up next to his beautiful dragon, Treize wasn't sure he was not still dreaming. Is it true? Did he really stay with me? Maybe he's finally ready to admit to himself that he loves me.
Gently waking the boy, he found his assessment was not quite right.
"Treize, no one must find out about what we did last night. If anyone asks, I was here for help with my studies, and it got late, and I fell asleep on the couch."
He nodded. "Certainly. Anything you say, my dragon." Not that they'd believe that such a talented student as you would need my help.
Wufei smiled bashfully. "I enjoyed myself, though. It's not right, though, for men to be with men. But I like it. Is there something wrong with me?"
"No! There is nothing wrong with you, Wufei. I'll keep everything between us private, for as long as you want me to." I hope someday you can be comfortable enough with this to allow us to go out in public together, my dear dragon.
After a shower and breakfast, Treize drove Wufei back to school before going to his own classes at college.
Treize tried to think of something he and Wufei could do together, but which would not give the suggestion that they were together. He remembered a favorite nightclub of Zechs', and he called Wufei that evening to see if he would be interested in going out Friday night.
"As long as you promise not to do anything untoward, at least not in public, I'll go. It could be fun. I've never been to a nightclub."
"Thank you, Wufei. I promise I shan't give anyone the impression that we're there together."
Friday night arrived, and Treize picked Wufei up at his dorm. He was wearing simple jeans and a black t-shirt, but Treize found him exquisite. "Will you come home with me at the end of the evening?"
"I'll think about it."
"Thank you."
At the nightclub, Treize bought himself a glass of red wine. "Would you like something to drink, Wufei?"
"I'd just like a soda, please."
Treize and Wufei were talking at a corner table, watching people walk past, watching the people dancing in the center of the room. "I've never been dancing," Wufei said.
"Really? I'd love to dance with you, but I fear it would give the impression we are here together, not just as a couple friends."
Wufei nodded. "Maybe I'll see a cute girl whom I could ask to dance."
Treize saw platinum blond hair from the corner of his eye. Turning his head, he saw that it was Zechs, and at he was with that boy he'd been kissing the other night. I must go talk to him at some point. "Would you like me to find you a girl to dance with?"
Wufei looked at him curiously.
"I can find a girl who would dance with you." He called to one of the girls walking past. "Would you like to dance with my friend here? He's never danced before, so be gentle."
She smiled. "Sure. Come on!" She led him out to the dance floor and started dancing with him.
Treize walked over to Zechs. "Zechs." The other boy had disappeared in the direction of the bar a few minutes earlier.
He turned. "Treize. What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to have fun with a friend."
He looked toward the dance floor and saw Wufei. "Him?"
Treize smiled.
All I ask you
Are you still alive?
All dried up and scarred inside
Save yourself in time
"Are you here with someone, old friend?" Treize asked.
"I am. He's gone to get us drinks."
"I see. Is this the same boy from the parking lot the other day?"
"Yes. And this is none of your business, Treize. Our friendship ended when you betrayed me with that boy." He gestured to Wufei. "I have nothing more to say to you." He looked in the direction of the bar and was glad to see Duo returning with their drinks.
Can I ask you
Are you still alive?
"As you wish, old friend." Treize waited until the braided boy returned before leaving. He is rather attractive. You've got good taste, Zechs. He acknowledged the boy, nodded to Zechs, then turned elegantly on his heel and strode away.
Returning to the corner table, he watched Wufei dance. He was doing well, considering it was his first time dancing. He's a fast learner. He remembered the first time they'd been together and how quickly and eagerly the boy had learned just what he liked.
He was so enthralled with his memory that he didn't notice Wufei's return until the boy placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Treize? Would you like to leave now?"
Treize looked up. "Are you not having fun?"
"No, I am. I just think I'd like to dance with you, and I'd rather do that in your apartments."
Treize stood, hoping the world didn't notice the bulge in his pants, and he and Wufei returned to his apartment, where Treize showed him other ways of dancing.
Crawl into your little world
Leaving yourself naked
Waking up next to Wufei for the second time in a week delighted Treize immensely. He lay there awake just to watch him sleep. He looked so peaceful lying there, and Treize knew that when the boy woke, he would want to leave. If I could change one thing about him, that would be it. I would help him be comfortable with me, be comfortable with loving me. Wufei curled up next to him in his sleep, nudging him gently in the shoulder. Treize wished it could go on like that forever. He snuggled up to the sleeping Chinese boy and allowed sleep to overtake him again.
Smashing up the innocence
To watch the flower die
Treize dreamed a restless dream. He was in the library of the high school with a blond boy. He was helping him with homework, algebra, most likely. Then his hand was on the boy's thigh, his lips pressed against the blond's lips. The blond did not protest when his hand moved from his thigh to the warmth between his legs.
He awoke with a start, waking Wufei in the process.
Wufei opened sleepy black eyes. "Treize..." he smiled, curling up against him.
He stroked the boy's shiny black hair. "Good morning, Dragon."
"Good morning." Wufei cuddled up to Treize, who could feel the boy's semi erection against his thigh.
This can't be true. I must still be dreaming. He knew he wasn't dreaming when the boy kissed him good morning.
Idle hands that make no plans
Will never make perfection.
Set in stone or made of clay
When I ask you
Are you still alive?
Over a breakfast of scrambled eggs and pancakes, Wufei said, "I'm still not ready for other people to know about this."
Treize sighed. "I understand. But I need you to understand something, as well. I don't want you to be ashamed of our relationship. I need to know if you will ever be comfortable with us. I can't continue this way indefinitely. Will you try to work out your fears? Will you do it for me?"
Wufei nodded. "Yes. I'll try. But don't pressure me. I want to make this work, I think." He hesitated.
"What is it?"
"I... I love you, Treize."
He loves me. Me! I can't believe it. I don't deserve love, don't deserve his love. Tears welled up in his eyes. "Wufei, I love you, too." He wasn't lying, either.
"That's why I will try to work out my fears of what people would do if they found out about us. Because I love you."
He drove Wufei back to school before lunch. When he returned home, he sat on his couch, intending to do some work, but he couldn't concentrate.
You found your world is made of glass
A bitter pill to swallow
He thought about the first time he saw Wufei. He and Zechs had been lovers for nearly two years then. They'd discussed vague plans for the future- where they'd attend college, what jobs they wanted to do. He knew that Zechs wanted to spend the rest of his life with him. He had thought he could spend the rest of his life with the tall blond. That changed the day he first saw Wufei. He orchestrated a way to meet the boy. He had to become friends with him first. That wasn't difficult. The first time that he had come onto Wufei, the boy seemed shocked, but he didn't stop talking to him. In fact, he visited again the next weekend, and when Treize kissed him, the boy kissed back.
Of course, when Zechs found out, he was displeased. He stopped talking to Treize, and he avoided seeing the Chinese boy if at all possible.
Look in through the cellophane
That used to be your eyes
Treize watched his former lover at lunch. He looked rather listless, almost depressed. Zechs, please snap out of it. You look so dead. He knew he was the reason for his friend's depression, and he felt some amount of remorse, but he wasn't going to stop seeing the beautiful Chinese boy. If only Zechs didn't look so miserable.
Try to hide the filth inside
Can you be forgiven?
One day, Treize noticed a visible difference in Zechs. He looked almost happy again. It was as if he'd regained his hope. He crossed the cafeteria to talk to him. "Zechs, you look good today."
"What do you want, Treize?"
"I was just noticing that you looked happy. I wanted to say hello, since you no longer looked like you wanted to tear me limb from limb, or would have if you only had the motivation."
"It's none of your business."
"Zechs, can you ever forgive me? Can we be friends again?"
"I truly doubt it."
Then a boy with a long braid sat down with his lunch next to Zechs. "Hey. I hear you're good with trigonometry."
Seeing Zechs' eyes brighten when the boy plunked himself down next to him, Treize excused himself and returned to his habit of watching Zechs from across the room. He must be that 9th grade transfer student I've heard about. He smiled to himself.
What you see is all a dream
All I ask you
Are you still alive?
Treize jumped when the phone started ringing. I must have fallen asleep. He answered the phone.
"Treize? It's me, Zechs."
All dried up and scarred inside
Save yourself in time
Can I ask you
Are you still alive?
