Well other than having a bad week I also can't find the notebook I had this story written in and it may have disappeared for good... which means I gotta rewrite over half the story. *sighs and goes over to her corner to cry* Anyway thanks for the feedback! ^_^ Oh and yes I am titling the parts now because... well... I can.
Zechs and Duo were greeted by the smiling face of Quatre when they came in the door. That he was home early was an extreme rarity in and of itself. That he was home early *and* in a good mood was a minor miracle. Being head of the massive Winner Industries really wore on Quatre, more so since Trowa's death.
Even now, years later, it still hurt to think of Trowa's death. It really had more to do with *how* Trowa had died than the fact that he had died. He'd been going to Catherine's apartment to pick up his son. Quatre and Trowa had gotten married secretly during the war and hadn't told anyone till afterwards. They'd even had a child during the last years of it. A beautiful boy with Quatre's blond hair and Trowa's green eyes named Orin Douglas. When both had been busy the boy had alternately been watched by Catherine or Quetre's army of sisters. It had been a week when Catherine was watching him and Trowa went to pick up the 4 year old boy. It was routine in fact, so routine that nothing could have gone wrong. Then the apartment building had exploded.
Both Trowa and Catherine has been killed, their bodies recovered from the rubble. Unfortunately they had never recovered Orin's little body, but he must have died in the explosion, no one else had survived. OZ investigators later said it had been a 'gas leak combined with faulty wiring in the heater' that caused the explosion. No one really believed it and Quatre has been heart broken over the loss. Zechs and Duo had helped him with his grief and they'd all just moved in together in one of Quatre's numerous estates.
"Hey Quatre what's shakin?"
He just smiled and bustled them into the kitchen, pouring cups of tea for each of them. "They found whoever it was that kept hacking into Winner Industries' computer. They couldn't track down who it was exactly, but they found how he kept getting into the system and made sure he can't get in that way anymore."
"Congratulations Quatre." Zechs meant it. for the past several years Winnver Industries had been plagued by a hacker who created orders, rerouted shipments, and withdrew money. They'd never been able to find him until now.
Age had only helped Quatre, really. He had grown a great deal after the war. He now was somewhere in the 6 foot range and he'd ended up being as broad has his father. He had solid, well honed muscles, but somehow managed to look buff either way. Years of running Winner Industries, and playing politics with OZ, had given his smooth, angelic face several lines, and his soft blue eyes had a certain hardness that came not only from the war, but also from wheeling, dealing, and threatened to protect those things and people dear to him. It made people respect him and seem much more imposing than he actually was. They all had that look in their eyes. It was the look of anyone who knew they had lost the battle and done a political tap-dance while hating themselves for merely surviving.
"So anything exciting happen while I was at work? You both look a little pale, like you saw a ghost."
Quatre settled down at the kitchen table sipping his tea meditatively. Zechs and Duo had sat down next to each other still holding hands. A hold Duo broke to idly play with his mug.
"Well, we got run over by this kid running from some OZ soldiers. Really funny kid Quatre."
Duo's cobalt eyes held a look Quatre knew very well. It was a look telling him he didn't want to say whatever was coming next with an audience. They had long ago accepted that OZ was watching and recording practically their every move. With former Gundam pilots running around free, OZ's motto was 'you can never be too careful.' Quatre gave him a nod that signified that the room was clear.
"What was so funny about him?" Duo caught Zechs' eye for a moment before turning back to Quatre. "He looked exactly like Zechs. Almost a carbon copy."
Quatre blinked. "Almost?"
"Well, the guy did look about ten years younger, and had a ponytail."
Zechs just frowned, his aristocratic features creasing into a face that, at 32, they were all too familiar with. The enigma that ran them over just wouldn't stay out of his head. How could there be someone who looked exactly like him? Cloning was possible, but there weren't any clones of him, not that he knew about. Besides, cloning was illegal, it had been outlawed in A.C. 103.[1] The only other explanation that even remotely made sense would be that he was a relative of some kind. But he had no children and none of Relena's 5 mutant munchkins[2] looked even remotely like him. There were no other Peacecrafts outside himself and his sister. And Relena's overly energetic and bratty kids.
His disturbing line of thought was stopped by the feel of soft lips against his. It was a kiss on the lips meant to get his attention. As Duo started to pull away, his tongue darted out, swiping across those teasing lips. Duo grinned at him, mouthing 'later'. Duo didn't like flaunting his and Zechs relationship in front of Quatre. Despite his joking and talkative exterior he did try to be considerate of others. Besides, he and Zechs had a habit of starting and not being able to stop. That had led to some very *interesting* situations to say the least. Those thoughts led to exactly what happened during the times when they couldn't stop and, well, two pairs of pains were suddenly much tighter.
End of Part 2
[1] I figure they had to have come up with human cloning by now. If they can build mobile suits and giant floating colonies in space they can surely clone. And I'm also guessing it would be outlawed due to the potential to be misused.
[2] LOL. I had to put that in there because well... their Relena's kids!
So what ya'll think!?!?!?!?!
