Hi everyone. I was watching the news this morning, and was feeling rather upset and scared about the whole terrorist attacks, when I got an inspiration(Blame it on my muse, Kalchak!). The reason for this post is to ask all of you if you think it'd be in bad taste to write a story not necessarily based on the attacks, but inspired by it, at least. The following is somewhat of a teaser, to see how it's taken before I seriously sit down to write. I'd hate to get anyone upset or pissed off at me. Thanks. :}
Status of Infinite Justice

Warnings: Violence, possible OOCness. Possibly offensive subjects for some
people. If this offends you, then I'm deeply sorry. We all try to deal in our
own way. This is mine.
Disclaimers: GWbois aren't mine. Don't own them. OCs are mine.
Janet O'Shea stepped onto the plane from the concord and sighed, checking her watch again. She couldn't wait to get underway. She was on her way to San Fransico to meet up with her husband, John, and their daughter, Jessica, who had left earlier that week for their vacation. Janet had stayed behind because she had to go into work for a collegue who was sick.
Janet stumbled over a piece of carpet in the front of the plane, and gasped before her elbow was caught in a strong grip. She looked up into a pair of violet eyes. After a few moments, she shook off her surprise to hear what the young...man? was saying.
"Are you alright, ma'am?" the concerned young man asked. Janet smiled and nodded. "Yes, thank you, sir. Just clumbsy, I guess." The young man nodded and grinned, making his heartshaped face brighten like the sun coming out from behind a cloud. Janet felt her breath catch. Sure, she was married, and this young man was easily ten to fifteen years her junior, but she wasn't blind, and this young man was simply stunning.
The man winked those gorgeous violet eyes at Janet, then turned to walk down the isle of the plane to his seat near the back. Janet's brown eyes widened as she noticed the thick chestnut braid that flowed down his back to end at the middle of his thighs.
Janet shook her head, then headed towards her own seat, which was near the young man's seat. She smiled to him again, and held out her hand. "Hello. Thank you again. My name's Janet. Janet O'Shea."
The man grasped her hand and shook it firmly. "Hi, Janet! The name's Duo, Duo Maxwell. Meeting up with someone special?" The grin was back on that heartshaped face. The two continued to chat as the plane filled, then began the start up for take off.
Janet didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until one of the stewartesses screamed. Janet's head jerked up to see a dark young man holding the middle-aged woman against him, a wicked looking knife held against her throat. "Everyone stay seated, or she dies! This is a hijacking." Janet was too busy, and afraid, to notice what Duo was doing beside her. The way they were sitting, Duo was in the aisle seat, while she was near the window.
Duo pressed a hidden button on his watch, muttering softly into a transmitter. He tilted his head to the side as he listened to a voice only he could hear. He slipped the earpiece out of his ear, and slipped it into his braid, to keep the hijackers from finding it. He mentally snorted. They never checked his braid. Which was probably be a good thing.
Janet started to panic, but turned her head as Duo touched her wrist and gently shook her head. "It'll be ok." He smiled again, then winked at her. The hijacker nodded to one of his cohorts. The other stood, banishing a wicked looking machette-like weapon. He grabbed one of the flight attendants, shoving her toward the cockpit, where he and the attendant paid the pilots a visit. Janet looked over at Duo, frowning as she nibbled on her lower lip. "We're turning..." she said, feeling her panic raise more as she felt the plane changing angles. Duo nodded, his grin unusually absent from his lips. Suddenly, he smirked slightly, making a tendrel of fear of this young man slide down Janet's back at the quick change of Duo's demeanor. Duo bit his lower lip, making the already full lip red with blood. His wide, expressive violet eyes grew moist with unshed tears. He slowly stood, trembling. He approached the terrorist, his lower lip trembling with worry and fear.
The terrorist turned around as he felt a presense behind him. He blinked in surprise as he noted the young, gorgeous boy standing before him, the boy's hand clutching at a thick braid. "What, boy?" the terrorist snarled, more angry at himself for not being able to control his body's reaction. The boy before him looked almost..angelic, breath-stoppingly beautiful. The violet eyes of the boy widened even more and he jumped at the snarl... "P-please... I just need to go t-to the bathroom." He bit his lip again and made a soft whimpering sound. Janet's brow just arched as she looked at the man who had appeared so differently not five minutes earlier. She snorted inwardly. The boy was obviously trying to save his own ass. Why she was impressed by the smiling boy's behavior was beyond her. The pretty ones were always so shallow. The terrorist looked down at Duo, his dark eyes molesting the younger man before him. "Alright, we'll see about you getting to the bathroom, boy." Duo smiled weakly, then gasped as the man roughly grabbed his elbow and dragged him towards the front. He rapped on the cockpit door, and rambled off to his partner that he was going to 'entertain' a passanger in the bathroom, and that he should come out and watch the passangers for a moment or two. The other terrorist nodded and set the plane on autopilot before knocking out the attendant.
Duo inwardly snorted to himself. It was always too easy. He whimpered slightly in fear, and let himself be dragged into the bathroom of the plane. The terrorist shoved the young man against the wall and pressed his own body against the smaller one. Duo turned his head to the side, biting his knuckle, pretending to be terrified as the terrorist slid his hands under Duo's loose fitting shirt to stroke his smooth skin.
While the terrorist started to bite and lick at Duo's neck, his fingers slip into his thick hair and pulled out a needle. He smirked and drove the drug-covered needle into the neck of the terrorist, knocking him out almost instantly. He lowered the body to the floor, and removed some thin, yet strong, rope he concealed as a belt. He used the rope to bind the terrorist securely. He looked up at the mirror, and ripped his shirt.
Janet looked up as the bathroom door openned, and Duo stumbled out. The poor boy's cheeks were covered with tears, and his clothes were ripped and in disarray. Janet felt a little shamed with her previous thoughts about this kind boy. Maybe he just had to go to the bathroom like he said.
The other terrorist turned as he noticed the door openning and closing. Duo stumbled toward the other man, his face downcast. "Where's Dex, kid?" the man grunted. Duo bit his lip and whimpered. He said just loud enough for the man and other passangers to hear him. "Said to see if you wanted to play.." The older man's eyes narrowed in suspicion. "You're lying. His name isn't Dex." Duo shrugged, then smirked, before a hand shot out and grabbed the terrorist's wrist and easily snapping the bone. The terrorist cried out, the knife dropping from his hand.
Janet gasped in surprise, confusion filling her mind. //What in the world is going on?!// She stood up, and cries of fear echoed from around her. Duo twisted the man's arm behind him, before kicking at the back of his knees, sending him to his knees on the floor of the plane. "Gotcha, you shithead." He pulled out another length of rope and quickly tied up the terrorist, then slammed his fist into the older man's temple, knocking him out. Ignoring the passangers, Duo pulled out a transmitter, and spoke into it. "Scythe to Golden Eagle, come in Eagle."
Janet's brows crease as she, too, ignored the crowd and focused on Duo. The transmitter crackled to life. "Golden Eagle here, Scythe. Report." Duo smirked. "Hai, Eagle. Flight 240 secured, threat eliminated. Secure landing area, over." Duo looked up and winked at Janet, a smirk lifting the corner of his lips. "Landing area secured. Proceed to the following cordinates, Scythe. You will be greeted by a welcoming party who will take care of the guests of honor. Number we should expect, over?"
Janet got up and headed for Duo. "What's going on, Duo??" Duo just laughed softly. "Why, it's the cavalry!" He turned to the passangers. "Calm down please. The situation is over, however, we will be diverting to another airport. There won't be any hijacking on my watch!" He laughed, and started to turn toward the cockpit, when a middle-aged man stood up and shouted, "Who are you?!"
Duo turned halfway around and threw his braid over his shoulder. "Agent Shinigami, from the Preventers, at your service." He winked again, then disappeared into the cockpit. A dead silence filled the cabin, and the man fell back into his seat. "Preventers... who knew?!" Janet sat down, and bit her lip as tears of relief flowed down her cheeks. They were alive. And she owed that young man, who she thought was just a 'nice, pretty boy' who turned out to be quite a dangerous man in his own right....
