Summary: Zechs and Duo are planning to get married.
Note: The vast bulk of this was written well over a year ago, all but chapter six. Just FYI.
"Mmmm..." Zechs made a long noise of pleasure after taking his first morning's mouthful of coffee. Duo made it just the way he liked it, sweetener only so he could barely taste it, plenty of milk. His darling angel was downstairs fixing breakfast, Zechs had no meetings today, the wedding was tomorrow, and the bougainvillea was in bloom. [Life doesn't get much better than this,] he thought, nearly purring. He stretched his long legs out on the chaise lounge, sipping on coffee while looking around in pleasure at their now lush roof garden.
He was almost contemplating checking on breakfast when his pager went off. Frowning, he activated the laptop on the table beside him. To his dismay, his sister's face filled the screen.
"Brother!" Relena exclaimed, nearly squealing her joy. "We're here!"
Zechs couldn't help a small smile, though he was getting the impression trouble was heading their way. "You mean you're on the colony, Relena? That's wonderful - welcome! But who's 'we'?"
"Oh, that would be my companion," the girl replied cheerily, turning a faint pink. "What, did you think I would come to space alone? To a wedding?"
He had no idea how to respond to that. "Ah..."
It didn't matter, because Relena pressed on enthusiastically. "Oh, Brother, I can't wait to see you! I'm going to check over all your arrangements for you and help get everything ready! So, you're going to pick us up at the spaceport?"
It was a moment before he realized she'd asked him a question, his mind stuck on "arrangements" and "help". "Uh, sure..." [But I haven't had my breakfast and Duo's making omelettes...]
"Great!" Relena grinned at her brother happily. "See ya in a few minutes!" Then, waving, she signed off and the screen went dead.
"Oh, shit," Zechs murmured and pulled himself out of the chaise lounge.
On the stairs, he very nearly ran into Duo, coming up with the breakfast tray. "Oh, ah, Duo..."
"Back upstairs, you!" Duo declared cheerfully, nudging at Zechs's midsection with the tray. "I've got more coffee, too."
"My sister's here."
"Here?" Duo gave him a devilish wink. "Where you hiding her?"
"She called - she wants me to pick her up at the spaceport." Zechs's stomach growled on cue as the smells rose enticingly from the tray.
"After breakfast," Duo persisted, nudging at Zechs again until the tall man had to go back up a step. "No way are you going to face Relena Peacecraft on an empty stomach!"
"You have a very good point there," Zechs concurred and proceeded back up to the roof garden, Duo and omelettes on his heels.
An hour later, they were on their way to the spaceport. Breakfast, since they were taking the day off anyway, was a leisurely affair such as had become their usual practice on the weekends, involving feeding one another... and invariably sex and a sensual shower. Today though, they hurried through the cleaning up after Relena had called Zechs again to make sure he hadn't gotten into a car accident.
"I have a bad feeling about this," Zechs murmured.
Duo, as usual looking out the window while his fiance drove, turned back to regard the older man. "It sounds like she's really looking forward to seeing you," he offered.
"She said something about helping," Zechs replied, eyes on the road.
"Uh-oh..."
Inside the spaceport reception area, Zechs was nearly tackled to the ground by his enthusiastic sister. "Milliardo!" she exclaimed, hugging him hard. Relena hadn't grown any more in three years, though her face had matured. "Oh, Brother, it's so good to see you!"
Duo was distracted by Relena's "companion". "Quatre! Hey, good to see you, buddy!"
"Hi, Duo," Quatre returned, grinning, then glanced over to where Relena was attacking her brother, rolling his eyes. "Now, before you say anything, I'm just escorting Miss Relena - don't go getting any ideas!"
"Heh, I'll judge for myself," Duo replied, winking. "Ooops, I better go rescue him," he added, nodding at his lover.
Zechs was trying to firmly extricate himself from his sister. "It's good to see you, too, Relena," he gasped, then looked for a rescue from his fiance.
"Hey, nice to see ya, doll," Duo said saucily, winking as he firmly wedged himself between the girl and his man. "Looking pretty good, as always."
Relena pushed back some mussed up hair and grinned as she released her brother. "Hi, Duo..." Then abruptly her expression changed. "What makes you think you deserve to marry my brother? I'm not even sure Milliardo is ready to get married. He's been through so much..."
"Which I wouldn't have gotten through without Duo," Zechs was quick to interject. "Relena, if you oppose our union, you might as well get right back on that shuttle..."
"I just want you to be sure, Brother!" Relena looked as if she was about to cry.
Zechs narrowed his eyes at her. "It's been five months. I'm very sure. And I don't need your permission."
Quatre looked alarmed. "Miss Relena, I'm sure what he means is that he loves Duo very much and they're happy together. You want your brother to be happy, don't you?"
"Y...yes..."
"You're still one smooth talker, Quatre," Duo said, smirking.
"Er, thanks..."
Zechs slipped his arm around Duo, pulling him gently against his side. "Relena, I do love Duo very much. He's been very good for me. Please... be happy for us."
Relena sniffed once, then magically recovered her composure, even managing to smile. "Of course I am, Brother. I just had to ask..."
Quatre sighed with relief. "Miss Relena, we should go to the hotel now. It's been a long flight." He held out a hand to Zechs. "I'm Quatre Raberba Winner, Miss Relena's escort."
Zechs stilled even as he shook the younger blond's hand. "Ah... nice to meet you at last, Quatre." But he couldn't help but wonder what the boy thought of him. Shouldn't he be... wary?
"Nice to meet you, too, Milliardo," Quatre replied smoothly, smiling.
"Please... call me Zechs," the tall blond said quietly.
When Quatre looked startled, Duo spoke up before anyone else could. "It's what I call him," he said quickly, though Relena looked just as alarmed. "It's a pilot thing, what can I say? I know we're not Gundam pilots anymore, but it's just easier... I mean, 'Milliardo'? I can't call him that! He's Zechs. Heero and Trowa call him that, too."
"Zechs..." Quatre nodded, accepting, though he still felt unnerved by the name. "Yeah, I guess it's easier to say than the other name. So, you use both names?"
Zechs was glad to have Duo so close against him, a needed anchor against the specters of the past. "No, actually. 'Zechs' seems reserved for those who knew me in the war... and ex-Gundam pilots. I don't use it otherwise."
"Well, that answers that," Duo said cheerily. "Hotel time!"
"Oh, Brother," Relena spoke up quickly, "but I have to look at your wedding arrangements!"
"Eh?" Duo was baffled.
"Men simply cannot do wedding arrangements," Relena announced in supreme confidence. "I'm going to look over all your plans to see that everything is proper, and I'll fix whatever else I can. I know, I should have been here three months ago to do this, but I couldn't get away. So I'll just have to make do!"
"Huh?" Duo asked, scowling.
"We can do that later, Miss Relena," Quatre broke in hastily.
"No, I'm afraid I have to go to my brother's house immediately," Relena insisted cheerfully.
"Relena," Zechs spoke up, trying to be patient. "There are no arrangements to see. You don't need to come to the house right now at all."
The flash in the girl's eyes was like fire from the mouth of a dragon. "What do you mean 'no arrangements'? Aren't you getting married?"
Zechs and Duo looked at each other. "Yes," they answered together.
"Well, then a wedding has to have arrangements!"
Zechs scratched his head. "We're just having a little ceremony at Peacegarden in the courtyard, then everyone is invited over to Donatell's for dinner. We've reserved the whole restaurant for the evening." He shrugged. "That's it."
Relena was incensed and deflated. "But... the ceremony... flowers... table favors... name tags... music... a cake..."
"Oh," said Zechs.
"Oh," said Duo, then grinned. "I like cake. Can we have a cake, Zechs?"
"We didn't think of having a cake," Zechs admitted. "I suppose we can get a cake."
Relena turned a smug smile upon the couple. "I told you, men can't plan weddings. Now what are your colors?"
"Colors?" Zechs inquired in a faint voice.
"Colors?" Duo asked, bewildered.
"Oh, for heaven's sake!" Relena threw up her hands while Quatre hastily moved out of the way so he didn't inadvertently get slapped. "We're going to your house right now!"
There was no arguing with a Peacecraft Daughter in that tone of voice.
Two ex-Gundam pilots had an unusual mission to complete and they weren't having a hell of a lot of success with it. The mission: to purchase a wedding present for Zechs and Duo. It was bad enough that they couldn't decide on what to get them. The worst part was being out in public... together...
It was such a tease and turn on for the two eighteen-year-olds to steal moments when they could kiss and fondle one another. It was a game, and only Duo Maxwell was more of an expert at stealth maneuvers.
"How about bed linens?" Trowa asked innocently as Heero maneuvered him behind a large furniture display to nibble on his lover's neck. "You know, nice, satiny... ahhhh, Heero, that's good... ah, bed... linens..."
"Nah, we can do better than that," Heero retorted, unbuttoning the first two buttons on Trowa's shirt to reveal more skin. "Lamps?"
"Heero, what are..." Trowa gulped as his lover's tongue lapped at the hollow of his throat. "No, no, not lamps. How about a coffee table?"
"Mmmm, Tro, you taste good..." Heero drew a deep breath and straightened to eye the taller man. "You've got to be kidding. A coffee table?"
"Yeah," Trowa replied, breathing a little fast, the corner of his mouth curved slightly. "You know, one of those low tables you put all sorts of big picture books on, conversation starters."
Heero looked narrowly at him, even while he was toying with the zipper on his partner's pants. "Duo has no need of help to start conversations, and if we got them that, we'd have to get a couple of books, too, and I have no idea what Zechs would like."
"Heero..." Trowa gasped softly as the other drew his zipper down, then slipped a hand inside. "Ah, gardening books come to mind..."
"Got any other brilliant ideas?" Heero actually smirked as he closed his hand around his lover's hardness.
"Oh, God... n...no, you're not going to... not here..." Trowa's eyes fell closed and he sagged against a large entertainment center.
"About a wedding present, I mean," Heero added, then when the tall cabinet began to tip, he pulled Trowa away from it. "How about a set of new pots and pans?" He was still busy stroking the other's erection.
"Ah, Zechs bought new ones for Duo, I thought, when he finished taking that cooking class..." Trowa clutched at Heero's shoulders for support, already rocking into his hand.
"Right," Heero muttered, then paused to peer around the edge of the cabinet. There was no one on the sales floor of the store except two saleswomen who seemed deep in conversation at the far end of the long room. He hid back behind the tall piece of furniture again, then took his hand out of Trowa's pants. "Tro, turn around..."
A whimper escaped, then the taller man was obeying. There was a small opening in the back of the cabinet for the insertion of cables and electrical cords. Trowa fit his fingers into the opening for something to hold onto. "Heero, are you sure..."
Heero already had his arms around him, opening his pants all the way up, then slipping the trousers and briefs down off the narrow hips. He nudged Trowa's feet apart with a foot, then began to work his own pants open to free his erection. "Shut up... wider..."
The rough talk sent a jolt of electricity through Trowa's groin. [Oh, shit, he's really going to fuck me here!] He clamped his mouth shut, biting on a lip, and moved his feet apart as far as he could considering his pants were now down around his knees.
"Bend your knees... that's better..." Heero opened a tube of lubricant from his pocket and slathered it on himself. They'd just had sex a few hours before, so he knew Trowa would open easily for him. He laid a hand on his lover's back, bending him a little more, then guided his cock to the opening and began pushing in.
"Sh...shit, Heero!" Trowa exclaimed excitedly in a stage whisper, then gasped again as Heero pulled one of his hands down and brought it around to his own weeping erection.
"Do yourself while you're getting fucked, Trowa," Heero muttered, then pushed the rest of the way inside. He clasped onto the other man's slim hips and began pumping.
Trowa moaned a little, and bit his lip again, trying to keep quiet, though the prospect of possible discovery was a huge turn on for both of them. He pumped his fist over his cock as his lover fucked him hard. It didn't take them any time at all to reach climax.
Abruptly Trowa was shooting streams of white cum onto the pressboard back of the tall cabinet, barely able to stop a gasp from coming out. Heero emptied himself in his lover, sagging onto his back a few moments as they trembled together. Then they heard the faint clicks of shoes coming their way.
One of the salesladies had evidently heard... something.
Quickly they put themselves in order, breathing hard. In moments, they walked around the far side of the display to come back to the front as if they'd merely been walking around the whole thing.
"Can I help you young gentlemen?" the woman asked, looking peculiarly at them.
Heero and Trowa, a bit flushed, looked at one another, then Heero said to her, "The big entertainment center - can that be purchased separately or is it a part of the whole set of furniture?" The cabinet matched the wood of the rest of the living room display.
"Oh, no, it can be purchased alone," she replied, wondering if there might actually be a sale in this. Those two young men looked very odd...
The two lovers looked at each other, then a slow smile spread over both their faces. "We'll take it!"
"Oh, well, unfortunately, we don't have any in stock," the woman replied, disappointed. "There are several others over here..."
"No, actually," Trowa spoke up, suppressing a grin, "we'd like the floor model. In fact we insist on it."
"Er, ah... this is very irregular... very well..."
As the woman led them back to the register, Trowa murmured to his lover, "I think we did find the perfect wedding present after all!"
Heero, remembering the condition in which they left the cabinet -with a certain white substance spattering the back - chuckled. "Oh, it couldn't be more perfect! They'll love it!" They knew by the time the cabinet was even boxed up for shipping, the "substance" would have dried, appearing as dried glue due, no doubt, to messy craftsmanship by the assembler.
No one would ever know. Though it was highly likely that Heero and Trowa would one day seek to re-enact their risky adventure.
They might even get caught.
